Shalista was amazing to work with. The entire session was like you were old friends just enjoying another day of regular pictures. She had me so comfortable I had the courage to do pictures with the white sheets and a wet tank. I was so nervous for the reveal, I had no idea what to expect. When she started playing the slideshow all I could do was cry. This wasn't me! The pictures were absolutely amazing. This was definetely one of the best experiences I've had and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

After the shoot, I felt amazing, powerful, a sex goddess. I finally understood what my husband kept telling me. I am sexy as hell.

I had always felt unseen and not special. I wanted to feel unique and beautiful. The day of my shoot, my husband was out of town. I went in excited and ready. The makeup artist was amazing. I gave her free rein to do me up as she saw me. I took a few selfies and sent them to my husband to which I received several wows and sexy and beautifuls. When it came time for my shoot, Shalista took me through each step, arch, smile, toe point, finger curl. It was wonderful. And when we were done. She asked if there was anything else and I asked for one more photo. Up to this point, I had hidden my scars, my mom stomach, my stretch marks. But my goal was to see me. So, I stripped down to all my glory, wearing nothing but my wedding ring and the first necklace my husband ever gave me and asked her to find a way to show me the real me. Today, I get to see my revel and I can’t wait to meet me again.

Boudoir is truly an artform. It’s not porn and it’s not something dirty or naughty. While the images can certainly evoke strong feelings, the art and styling of the female body is an artform. From the earliest days of fine art, images have been created featuring women’s bodies and it does not need to be explicit to be sexy. Today it’s more accessible and feasible for every woman to feel like a work of art.

This experience gave me the confidence boost I needed, it gave me the first ever glimpse of who I am and what I can be. Not what others think and or thought of me. When I got to the photo shoot I was nervous I didn't know if I would really want to see what I look like, but the nerves went away immediately. Shalista and the beautician made me feel so comfortable that I didn't think twice about anything I was doing. I felt completely at ease and wonderful in all of the beautiful lingerie.

When confidence becomes part of the conversation, I feel like we've reached a tipping point in how women are seeing themselves. To empower means to give strength or power; confidence is defined as belief in one's own powers or abilities.

It’s normal to be nervous when stepping out of your comfort zone, getting semi-undressed in front of a stranger, maybe not being totally comfortable with your body, posing, makeup, hair to name a few reasons… it can be overwhelming!
